then he who is physically uncircumcised but keeps the law will condemn you who have the written code and circumcision but break the law. for no one is a jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. [romans 2:27-28]

what “RIGHTLY” condemns our heart of its sin?

condemn meaning = judgment that separates us from God and pronounces eternal punishment for our sin.

first, let’s ask this question – what or who “wrongly” condemns our heart of its sin?

  1. other humans cannot condemn our heart of its sin. (luke 6:37)
  2. the world cannot condemn our heart of its sin. (john 19:10-11)
  3. satan cannot condemn our heart of its sin. (revelation 12:10)

here is the truth of the word of God on the condemnation of our sin.

Jesus alone can “RIGHTLY” judge and condemn our heart of its sin. (john 5:22, acts 10:42)

and he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he (Jesus) is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. [acts 10:42]

our sin will be judged and condemned one day by the son of God – Jesus.

unless

our sin was (is) condemned in Jesus on our behalf.

hear and ask God to embrace these truths in your heart.

for God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. by sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, [romans 8:3]

he himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. by his wounds you have been healed. [1 peter 2:24]

surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. but he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. [isaiah 53:4-5]

what truth is God declaring in these passages?

in Christ – nothing and no one can condemn the sin of your heart – ever again. ever!

conviction will come – yes! this calls us to repentance and freedom from our sin.

but in Christ – no more condemnation.

there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. [romans 8:1]

the rest of this day – sit in this verse.

pray into it, mull it over, ask the LORD to give you questions about what all this means, ask the LORD to speak truth into your heart from this verse, ask the LORD for prayers from this verse, and more.

take this truth with you all day – and may the LORD feed you a banquet of his goodness!

enjoy!
